French Michelin-starred chef to host paired pop-ups at Jozi hotel

From 16 to 25 November, Four Seasons Hotel The Westcliff will host Michelin-starred chef Vincent Lucas for a series of intimate pop-up experiences. The pop-ups will comprise four- and eight-course lunches and dinners, including local or French wine pairings, and each will accommodate just 20 guests.

Chef Lucas is the owner of Etincelles in Sainte-Sabine-Born, France, his second restaurant to receive a Michelin star. At the quaint Etincelles, guests enjoy a spontaneous, experimental menu that changes daily. A similar journey of discovery will be available at the pop-ups, where guests can look forward to an exciting and risqué summer menu focusing on specialties from the South-East of France. Each encounter will be held at the hotel’s newly renovated private dining room, overlooking the city’s blossoming horizon. Also look forward to a wonderfully hands-on encounter. Chef Lucas will engage patrons with his culinary story and explain the inspiration before presenting and finishing each dish.

Chef Lucas describes his cuisine as “Inspired by tradition and embalmed with distinct, refined flavours. I love to work simply, because I think simplicity can be the best luxury”. As for what to expect at his pop-ups? Prepare to throw caution to the wind and leave your comfort zone behind.

Tickets cost R2000 (for the local wine pairing) or R2500 (with the French wine pairing) and are available here.
